If you’re like me, you ultimate dream is to chase the warmer weather around the world! As summer is slowly coming to a close here in Sydney, Australia it is the perfect time for me to start planning my next summer getaway. This year I plan on spending a few weeks frollocking around Europe enjoying the sunshine, and these are few of my favourite places to visit during the European summer!
So you’re dreaming of days on the beach or perhaps on a boat soaking up the sun? Then Croatia is for you! This country is a Mediterranean dream.
A particular hotspot for tourists is the medieval town of Dubrovnik. Here you can explore old churches, ruins and catch one of the most extraordinary sunsets. There are many different cheap cruise options that make port in Dubrovnik, and that could possibly be one of the best ways to see the area, from the land and the sea.
Scotland might not exactly scream summer holiday to you, but it should! This country is absolutely gorgeous all year round, but it’s particularly nice when the sun is out and greenery is at its peak.
I loved Edinburgh and I would recommend basing yourself there, this way you are in close proximity to Edinburgh Castle and some of the most amazing pubs!
The Scottish Highlands are simply breathtaking! This is something you must tick off the list when visiting Scotland. You can easily hire a car from one of the many places to do so in the city or get on tour for a more educational experience.
The Greek Islands
If you’re after an instagram worthy holiday, look no further than the Greek Islands. Surround yourself with ancient ruins and immerse yourself in the history and culture of this visually stunning set of islands and their ever so accommodating people.
Now there is a few different ways you can explore these beautiful islands – there’s the cruise option, going on a tour or you can always do it yourself as there are local ferries going between islands quite often. The way you get around is entirely up to you, but one thing is for sure – this should be at the top of your bucket list!
If you’re not one for the sun and sand then I suggest you head to Norway. This country is simply breathtaking and it is promised that your photos will look just like postcards.
Surrounded by mountains and glaciers, it is a must for all to see.
Oslo, the capital of the Norway has some amazing sights on offer like the modern Oslo Opera House and world class museums and architecture for everyone to enjoy.
If you’re thinking of eating your way through Italy this summer, I hope you’ve got at least two weeks spare because there is just so much to see. This country is just flooded with history and it is absolutely stunning to see.
Some must see destinations here are Rome, Florence and Venice, however in the summer it is recommended that you take the time to travel down the Amalfi Coast.
The Amalfi Coast is the coastline that runs down the south of Italy. It is filled with white sandy beaches, turquoise water and picturesque view. However, regardless of which part of Italy you visit you will always be able to get world class pasta and gelato to die for!
If you are in the midst of planning your European summer getaway, where do you plan on traveling to? I would love to hear your ideas!
